What is Preparing Godly Leaders?

Preparing Godly Leaders (PGL) is a two-day youth retreat that equips young people ages 9-19 to serve our Lord. PGL aims to teach boys and girls the skills they need to serve in the Lord’s Church.
PGL is hosted by Pennsylvania Christian Camp and sponsored by The West Virginia School of Preaching. Admission is free, just bring a Bible, money for Canteen, and a great attitude!
Theme and Dates
Theme: Traits of a Godly Leader
2026 Dates: July 8th – July 11th
Drop Off: Wednesday, July 8th from 1-3 pm
Pick Up: Saturday, July 11th from 8-10 am

What to Expect
PGL has a greater focus on learning God’s word. We have more bible classes than a typical week of camp, but we still leave plenty of time for games and fellowship with each other! A typical day at PGL includes:
- Interactive Lessons
- Morning Chapel
- Evening Campfire Devotional
- Canteen (we recommend bringing $20)
- Fun Activities
- Time in Nature
- Three Meals a Day
- Sleep in a Cabin

What We Teach Boys
We strive to help our boys grow into faithful servants in the Lord’s Church. Our lessons focus on developing godly leaders while also providing practical training in preparing devotionals and song leading in a manner that is faithful to Scripture.

What We Teach Girls
Girls receive the same lessons as the boys on becoming godly leaders. In addition, they are taught separately how to prepare devotionals and lead singing, equipping them with these skills for ladies’ events such as ladies’ days and ladies’ Bible studies.
